What the fuck is this faggot's problem? I can see he isn't being mistreated, He had meals ready for him in the morning, all he had to do was sit down and eat. He wasn't even being compared to his sister, and later, HE GETS A PHONECALL FROM HIS MOM APOLOGIZING AND WORRYING ABOUT HIM!!! fuck this overly sensitive fuck.
What does this fuck wants? What does he want to achieve? Is he even being aware of how he's acting and how it affects everyone around him?

So far I'm not seeing the issue. It comes across like he upset his mom got married at all rather than mistreatment. His mother tried to apologise and to be honest she wasn't really trying to make him feel bad, she was just trying to make her step daughter comfortable. Either there's missing pieces of he's a little whiney.

Overall he just seems to be having trouble adapting to the remarriage.
It's normal to feel like that when your family remarries.
He'll probably get over it in a few chapters ,and then it will probably be a love triangle with his step sister as well.

i know everyone doesn't get the issue of this chapter of how he feels, but as someone who are basically a bit in the same situation as him (no, i don't have my parent remarried or something like that), i can relate

i think people are missing the point in that, yeah, the family are nice, they're not trying to compare him or anything, but you still can feel out of place especially considering how good your family is, it's kind of like inferiority complex, but also not at the same time, it makes you feel like anything you do won't be as good as your other family members are and it genuinely can feel frustrating

at times, these thinking would pop out on your mind "i can't make them proud" "anything i do would only be mediocre" "they deserve better than this", it's like a devil whisper that you supposed to not listen to but ended up listening to it anyway because of how often it whispered in your mind (and the character in this series don't have anyone to vent to)

MC's problem:Asian dad that expect his son to excel at basically everything. He can't live up to his expectation and that does damage to his sense of self-esteem

Heroine's problem: Toxic mother that favors her older sister. Her sister is her ally but she's busy so she's rarely at home

People really need to understand that even if his family aren't actively comparing him to his step-sister, he is still doing it regardless. Because he feels like he doesn't measure up in any way whatsoever, he feels like an outsider muddying what would otherwise be an idyllic family environment. And that feeling that he doesn't belong- even if his family tries to convince him otherwise- is what makes him want to avoid being home as often as possible.

His family hasn't done anything actively wrong, or as far as we can tell anything unintentionally wrong either. It's his own lack of self-esteem and negatively comparing himself to his step-sister that causes the friction. Anyone who's felt a lack of confidence or suffered insecurities knows damn well how it feels and how badly you want to avoid any reminders.

He's just a typical dumbass who can't think from outside his own position. Like when people complain about characters not getting something or having trauma or having a phobia - the "just get over it" crowd. Braindead kids.

It's completely normal and common for kids to feel a bit out of place when their parent remarries all of a sudden and there's a new dynamic - they'll feel like the others are now "a happy family" and they're the odd one out, especially since it's 3 people instead of just 1 - a superior child especially in his mind in terms of ability, looks, skillset, etc. The response? Avoidance and spending more time outside the house? Also completely normal.

Yeah, the breakfast exchange on pages 13-14 is perfect encapsulation of the situation in a sense.

Due to how he feels, he takes what mother said and applies it to himself, even though the phrase inherently does not.
Mother realizes this right away, which definitely implies awareness of the issues MC is facing in his mind - no need to immediately start mending a common encouragement like that otherwise.
Their relationship is too strained and she's too awkward to manage anything useful though, and as a result MC just storms out to avoid the discomfort.

Not to say that the parents don't at times have various thoughts I'm sure, but at the end of the day thus far they seem clearly more interested in supporting him rather than bullying him for his (imagined or otherwise) insufficiencies.

In some way this conflict is kind of refreshing instead of caricatures like total goody two shoes or assholes in the household. Let's see where things go from here

Am I the only one here that thinks his step-sister's flowery words were laced with poison? She literally told him his feelings don't matter to her one bit, suck it up and stay at home so they can all pretend that they're a "normal family." It's pretty clear that she's used to playing the part of the perfect girl and in return gets anything she wants from her dad, and now his mom has started to pick up on the language her dad uses, unintentionally comparing him to his "perfect" step-sister.

I didn't have this exact dynamic at home growing up, but I can totally relate to wanting any excuse to get out of the house to avoid having to pretend everything's fine when it isn't and the emotionally destructive verbal jabs that can come at any time without warning, forcing you to always be on guard.
