I think the fundamental thing being missed from her opinion is that context can completely change her outfits, like spats and bloomers will for me always be erotic because they don't exist outside of that context in modern times. When I'm watching the Olympics I am really not thinking about how skimpy the outfits are, when I'm watching the youtube clip collections of the super hot high jump or running girls it's the complete opposite.

Considering the length of the series and that the author does seem to actually want to look at what turns people on then I expect it to come up.
