Is the readaptation due to author complaint or something? Is this going to be the "faithful" adaptation?

I don't really find an issue with an art, but I do feel the more comedy-heavy approach kind of loses the first adaptation's charm of chill, underlying characterization. It got monotone real fast, yeah, but I liked how atmospheric it felt.

That said, given how it's paced in this one, maybe it also works as simple, pure comedy. Who knows.

I'm in team "there's nothing wrong with the new art style". It's a cuter take, and in fact, the characters' expressions are more varied and comical.

Various stuff has more details and designs are newer, like the previous water pot on magic circle vs portable burner. In short, many things are modernized in this reboot.

Magic was simplified though. No more complicated magic circles. Yet?

Skrell is more expressive here than the first adaptation, although that one would be a more personal preference if you'd want her to be like that or her previous more "stoic" personality.

• artstyle is more cutesy in this remake. Nor necessarily a bad remake, but i prefer the old MC’s design more. Maybe it’s because they drew in more detail.
• Amused Skrell is more expressive here. Curious to see where this goes.
• Seems they fastforwarded the dialogue a bit. Some minor bits are missing.
• Pretty sure that in pg4, “Ameisis” -> “Amethysts”, as in Amethyst, the Purple Father God. I’m suspecting the katakana is “Ameshisuto”, which is apparently an alternate spelling. The gods in this manga are named after gems of the corresponding elemental color (Jade, Topaz, Onyx, Sapphire). Amethyst has dominion over thunder and lightning (the Zeus equivalent), which is also MC’s magic color (purple magic). I checked the other chs in the prev version, and all elemental magic has the god names as part of the spell (eg: “Amethyst Orbit”).

I imagine there are reasons for a reboot rather than continuing, I doubt they wanted to stop what they were doing and start again either. Let's just see where it goes. Personally, I don't mind the art style and I haven't read the previous version either so I'm just going to enjoy it regardless.
