It took me a while to realize the reason behind her disappointment at the end... on p.22 she meant that she wanted to see his face (and reactions) more and expected him to blush, but instead he thought she wanted to see the food more. I thought she just wanted to see him blush and he told her "sure, look at my face all you want... oh and the food looks good" but he was just being the regular dense protagonist.

I'm surprised there was no fuss about indirect kisses or anything, even if they were biting the opposite sides of the chicken. Are romcoms finally moving on from that tired old trope? If so, that's good.
