For now, catching up to raws. It doesn't seem like there are any plans to end the manga for now (there is still material to adapt, this is based on a LN which is still releasing)

Sometimes it's not about the material, it's about the ratings, and the point of serialization. Next chapter or two will probably wrap up the "ln volume 1 story equivalent", and sometimes mangas get dropped there.
I would very much like it to continue, if only because I actually kinda like mc as well as the girls(which isn't often in this genre)

I know this is a turn off your brain and read manga, but cmon, have some creativity in your work author.

lol You DID predict this almost perfectly; your words came to my mind as soon as things started seriously going downhill for Karin.

It's not my main issue with this, though. I can ignore that turn of events--all circumstances up to that point lead to that or something like that happening. My problem is the resolution: MC-kun is supposed to be the one to save the day. Indeed, I call him so because he's still a kick chick: he's still being pushed as only having power in his lower body, and he even tried to beg a thug to let him go and do exactly what not a single of that group of thugs would want him to do--the guy in front of him especially, as he'd even said as much--with the only apparent reasoning behind his absurd pleading being his emotional distress.

And now, he's managed to beat the other guy with just this one little trick and come to save Karin--by beating the guy who fights on par with Karin, but would have none of the mercy on him, with that one kick.

Well, he'd better graduate from being a kick chick soon--or he won't, and the author will feed him the win. I don't see the author ending MC-kun's effeminacy (his barking at the other guy isn't a sign thereof), since effeminate MCs are extremely popular among mangaka--probably among the JP readers, as well.

I wonder if MC-kun will clutch his closed hand--not a fist--to his chest in worry over Arai's wellbeing in the next chapters.

For the people wondering why they don't go to the cops, bear in mind: these are high-schoolers. More than that they're delinquent high-schoolers. In a society that values conformity and respect for position/authority they're literally suffering from a declining population in large part due to overwork caused by the burden of expectation and conformity.

All that to say these girls most likely have a distinctly low opinion of authority figures- the police included- and their likelihood to actually do anything. Never mind the fact that no matter how logical it is, when someone you care about is kidnapped your first thought is to not do anything to endanger their life. And then on top of  all of that, there's the risk of them getting in trouble themselves for simply being delinquents involved. Because a system would  never punish someone for standing up to threats and harassment /s.

Is it  smart for them to leave it be and not go to the police? Of course not! But these are girls who have learned to handle their problems without any reliance on authority figures, and have been scoring low 30's on their best subjects. So of course they're not gonna rely on the system.
