I remember this one. It was axed at 4 volumes.
To be honest, the axe was probably deserved. It started charmingly, but around volumes 3 and 4, perhaps forced by low ratings, it introduced things like superior rival orchestras and those sorts of shounen drama and the low key, gentle charm was lost. It was a manga about normal young people trying their best, slowly discovering each other, building relationships, engaging in shared interests, and then it gradually stopped being about that and I gradually stopped liking it.
Quite unfortunate really.
