No, I don't think that colors really unique. It's inside everyone, you know?
It's unique in a sense that it's inside her, the true her that's not being seen by anyone, I think? Since you can't really see it unless someone is wounded

I don't know why she complain she is doll empty, I don't think so, she did not do any journaling, she have free will decided to do that. If she is empty doll, she will just follow instructions to do the journal. Any one have any spoilers, please spoil, nah I don't interested to know that tall girl.

The story itself told right before mini arc that she died, we are in a flashback. See chapter 6
I gotta say though, her doing obviously dumb choices to explore her mental problems in the worst way possible, given the situation and basically doing the murderghost's job for them is not that compelling

Ironic that the one time she exerted her own will and preferences (not following the afterschool's rules) was what led to her death.
Its kinda neat how in that moment the bag ghost used her new found worth and made her believe the complete opposite of her epiphany.

It's not as compelling as the mystery of the first one, and i feel like this shouldve been maybe the 3rd or 4th arc after id have fully believed there were no stakes and the kids were gonna be fine, but it was an interesting plot thread to end the last mystery on. I cant think of this ending well for the other kids who might crashout after this, i have no idea how they intend to write them not (sans the 1st boy)

She pretty much chose the worst possible time to actually do some self-reflection like this. Though considering her mother, I doubt she would have been allowed to visit a therapist or counsellor for any advice.

Instead of commenting on her rn, I just wanna say a few things about her mother.
I hope the fallout of her death would lead to the mother massive crash out cause I wanna see her suffer cause she’s the reason this ‘doll’ concept be born inside her daughter’s mind.

Imma gonna chew out the MC Kei here for a moment, because his cynical ass arguably tipped her over the breaking point and contributed to her suicide/ghostmurder rather than slapped her back to reality. He did the exact opposite of helping here.

Epiphanies and crash-outs rarely occur by choice xD

The first step to getting a better situation is realizing just how shit your situation was in the first place. Problem is, that includes getting hit with all the emotion you've been repressing to get through it. It took the Afterschool for Maaya to find a place where she can be herself, which reopened her struggle with feeling like an empty doll, which led to realizing just how suffocated she was under her mom's influence.

I think Maaya's apparition causes her to get "sick" - that is, spiraling more and more into negativity - the more she looks at it? Like how MC's ghost used his artistic meticulousness to try to lure him off the roof.

I am curious how her sudden death's gonna change the group dynamics. Would MC blame himself and be haunted by a new ghost taking advantage of that guilt? Is someone gonna be manipulated by a ghost to continue blaming MC? And what does a ghost "being born" in the real world actually mean in practice?

TBF to the MC, it's not like he knew she was troubled by this. She's a minor celebrity. It makes her vulnerable to obsessive fans and manipulative competition. Keeping up an image or persona, or putting some distance between herself and others is practically expected behavior.

(Plus, he just had a near-death experience that dredged up memories of abuse and his own suicidal ideation, after a stressful week or so. Of course he's gonna be a bit cranky when someone asks him to draw them right after that.)

(Which. I actually love how the individual struggles interact and interfere with each other. Kei being a positive influence for MC, while MC worsened Maaya's spiral.)

Maaya's arc needs to be repackaged into a cautionary tale and sent to parents everywhere fr
Way too many real people are just treated like dolls or trophies by their parents.

at the end of the day, these kids have no way to stop the mental decline caused by their interactions with the seven mysteries, writing up a report might delay things but eventually they would find themselves at the jaws of their haunting, just like nimori, and now maaya, did. the only thing writing up a report does is give you some practice so you have a slim chance of actually portraying the essence of your mystery when you inevitably reach your lowest point. its no wonder most of the kids assigned to afterclass duty end up dead

nimori sure didnt help maaya on her journey but the kid just escaped death the by the skin on his teeth lol
