I think it's a question of motivation for me. If you're doing something out of a passion for it, and simply aren't able to catch up or at least keep a consistent release schedule, then someone choosing to fill that gap out of a similar passion to shared the work shouldn't be problematic. If a group takes on too many projects, which happens (as do delays from life) I would think help in sharing would be welcomed. If a group has a long delay, or is being outpaced by raw releases, I think that would indicate an issue of some sort.
Conversely, if it's a matter of ego or monetization, I would be disappointed.
With so many raws available I'm inclined to think it's a matter of "bit off more than they can chew". I have no firsthand knowledge, and I've enjoyed Danke's work prior, so I can't attest with any surety to the rationale.
I guess it boils down to what really matters to each group, the works, the fan base, doing it oneself or potentially more sordid things.
But I've never been a fan of pissing contests, and selfishly, am simply here to enjoy, appreciate and discuss the various works.
Odd that I see less and less collaboration than I did in previous years.
For my part, all scanlation work is appreciated by me, and will continue to be even after I finish learning Japanese.
So thank you, everyone.
