How well are fellow community members taking these quarantine measures economically?

Will the aftershock from this virus be more deadly than the virus itself?

Edit: wow I screwed up the poll function so much on this. Also "I'm am" whoops

Edit: can someone report my post to fix the poll? I can't report my own post

I can still technically work from home, but the internet speed/stability is atrocious.

I’m still working at my physical job. The organizational structure was reorganized to try to accommodate for the virus. To be frank I work Metropolitan transportation Association as a cleaner. Ridership for trains is down 94 percent. My spouse (who’s a nurse) takes the trains to work and commented that the trains are so empty and clean. It feels all to uncanny. Personally I’m happier when I’m at home rather than at work right now.

Even though the organization frequently sprays chemicals in the trains now to fight off the virus. I’m getting more nervous as I want to stay healthy. Here’s a little rant one night I had to empty (dump) the toilets on the outside of the train. I suited up with a mask, tyvek suit, twos sets of gloves, and a face shield. I hope I’m not becoming a hypochondriac.

Anyway thanks you for the thread. I hope that everyone here is managing this situation well. Keep busy and be sure to contact loved ones. Stay indoors if possible, if you need to go out wear proper (PPE) personal protective equipment. Last but not least keep washing hand your hands

I work at a freakin craft store for 8 bucks an hour and we're still open. We at least finally closed to the public a few days ago, so we're only fulfilling online orders either shipped to home or curbside pick up.
Already had a couple whackos trying not to take "we're closed" for an answer and force their way inside. 🙄

Working from home is kinda better for me. For which I have less interactions with the people in the office.
My only issue is that google drive synchronization takes a lot of time. I don't know if it's about the internet connection or what.

The economy will continue to be greatly affected by this crisis. I am afraid that if this will be prolonged, people will fall short on the basic necessities of life.
But I believe this, too, shall pass.

Please continue to stay safe everyone.

When traffic spikes , i can't even take my hands off from the keyboard

but Thank God openBSD can still handle that

People really should stop using windows 10 , that shyt is making things worse , i was about to finish reconfigure a win10 pc into a web-server via SSL , when the f**king update that popped on and forced process termination , thus wasting my time .

And it got worse with covid-19 , since business tend to ask me to build a delivery system connected to their "manual" inventory . And when i ask them what OS do the client use , i flipped when they said free-win10 . F*** you M**ros*ft , F*** you .

Just use win7 , while it is worse in term of performance since new hot stuff is designed for 10 , it still a honorable piece of bloatware since it isn't as intrusive as it's successor .

~OpenBSD , sending bad boys to /dev/null since 1996~

Last week, the government decided to make work day "all company will be closed to 3 PM, all stores/markets will be closed at 2 PM"
Now, my work starts early at 7 AM to make up for the time
