Look, some of your 'friends' may be trying things, thinking it makes them 'cool' or 'hip' or 'skibidi' or whatever they call it today, but you don't need to go that route. We're here for you, and no matter what, you'll be our little purple serial killer guy.
huh

I did not know how much I needed to hear all of that

thank you, panda

How did I find good things to read? Checking other authors' works and using advanced search with the tags I was interested atm. Nowadays, I just check last updates.

I'm pretty new to MD and haven't read much stuff on here.
But on the old site I used, alot of people upload memes in comment section using images from other mangas.
A million people BEG for the sauce of that image and once we get it, I just search it up and add it to my TBR.
It's almost always going to be of a manga with a similar feel.
Like under the comment section of a yaoi manga you're going to find yaoi memes, and the same goes for pretty much ANY genre.
In the very few mangas that I've read here on MD, I see that people unfortunately don't have meme culture. (Most likely because of how much of a struggle it is to upload images) but maybe I was just in the wrong comment section.

I click anything really.

Then I look at the upload schedule, if I see that the chapter uploads are schizo in time frame, I avoid the manga like the plague.

Not wasting my time getting invested in a manga whose TL comes randomly once every few months if the TL feels like it.

I also watch out for if the story says "Completed", but a passing glance at the comments shows it clearly got axed, and not worth my time.

And anything that has the "Adaptation" tag I read with caution, not getting too invested, just in case it ends up being yet another shitty Light Novel ad with an inconclusive manga ending.

What i do here is rank by most views, and then i look at everything from top to bottom.
What about the obscure genres with a dedicated fanbase? You'll never find Yuri this way.:questionblob: Going by most views is the worst way to find manga worth reading.:bleh: Just because a bunch of people like it, doesn't mean it's good. Most of the marvel movies have lukewarm plots and they try to make up for it with expensive special effects and popular actors.:slap: Really, everyone should just read Yuri instead.

Views are not a thing yet since MangaDex was shut down to be rewritten, so I'm assuming it's about followers. And well, the most followed new titles are the ones that appear on the frontpage, so I have to wildly assume someone is trying to pull a leg or two...

I keep going, of course 👍
Without tags 1st, with one tag if i want only one sort of manga (survival/death games, etc for exemple).
Take some time, but it's nice to do a reading list for later.

Edit : What Manko-sensei say is the truth, i don't find most views here.
Weird, i'm sure it was here before, maybe months or years ago .

What a dumb thing to say.
Worst way?
If you have unlimited free time to waste, sure, go ahead and read everything alphabetically till you find that mythical worth reading thing.

Patronizing and condescending people like this is why I hate the so-called self-proclaimed "dedicated fan".

I'll probably be more polite after sleeping. Then again, I don't think I've ever been completely polite. Anyways, I didn't mean to offend. I have a tendency to take hyperbole to the extremes. It's one of my bad habits I acquired from arguing with my siblings growing up. Besides, you're being a tad hypocritical. I often find things I do extremely irritating in other people. Sorry, I'm still being rude. Though if I really was sorry for being rude I wouldn't send this message.
