Upload image to imgur, for imgur specifically I've found you can't use their little built in "copy link" button, you gotta actually right click "view image" and use that URL.

type [*img] -insert imgur URL here- [*/img] without the *'s.

MD is picky about what url's it'll allow to work, there are other image hosting sites that will work but some don't, I just know imgur does work and it's easy to use because no account needed.
