I feel like that's probably the best way you can do it without dragging it on for twenty+ chapters honestly? I mean there's clearly a timeskip so she had time to think about the matter and conclude what she did was wrong, She apologized, explained herself, and didn't demand or expect forgiveness.

Granted I'd absolutely still hold a grudge personally but I feel like that was realistically all you can do if you realize what you did was wrong.
