My grandparents are on their way out and my parents just hit 50. I never knew that the hard part of getting older would be watching the people you love fade away. 😔 I’m trying to treasure my family while I have them and I advise everyone to do the same if they have a good relationship with them.

I'm glad we can all bond over the shared feeling of family. That memorial photo bit is so relatable, we're all trying to find a decent photo of my grandma right now for her funeral. 😅

yea, jasmine rice was def surprising, tho does seems much more likely to have chance to get jasmine than basmati (assuming they even have access to good aged basmati). Tho even jasmine seemed odd considering how much short/japonica grain rice is the norm there. Actually, lamb chops can't be cheap/common in Japan, so honestly wonder why not try and get basmati if u are gonna splurge for the lamb chops? (also chops are kinda lean/expensive for it- much prefer cheaper and more flavorful lamb shoulder/leg/shank for biryani)

You can trip even with a cane/not sure how well that prevents slipping but my first thought was "Well at least his bill won't put him into debt"

I guess kenta is a bit tall but ppl do shrink as they age

Sweet outing lol, Kenta really should open some kinda small restaurant after he 'retires' even if it is more of a hobby/passion for him, or who knows, maybe he'll end up catering or contributing to that city festival or so

i feel like the author just looks at whatever new trend is going on and adapts it with a "whats up cool kids" attitude. like he just googled that memorial pics were a thing and put it here.

Definitely hits home when you're in your 40s and parents are in retirement and are now grandparents.

I feed my parents some grilled steak, chicken and pork everytime they visit.
I should probably visit them myself this time.

Well that's a reminder for me to call my parents
Don't just call. Try a visit if possible.

Somehow I never thought about having a specific photo taken for your memorial, but I guess it's that or leave it up to chance....

Damn, I lost my dad only a few years ago so I've been even more worried watching my mom grow older 😔
