Oh, she'll leave again? That's what happened? That's what she did last time, right? She just fucking left you?
There can be no forgiveness without remorse. There can be no healing without closure. You get neither with Kaizen. Just imperial prerogative and a detestable ignorance.

How could I possibly like this guy? I can't claim that I could never like him, but this medium isn't exactly known for male love interests capable of introspection and regret. If he ever came to understand the damage he caused and sincerely seek forgiveness for what he did to his ex-wife and his only son, I would maybe come around to him, but I feel like this is one of those things where that's all glossed over because he was "a hard man making hard decisions." The funny thing about those men is that the consequences of their hard decisions are shouldered by other people. I don't think we're ever going to dive into that.

I think this will develop in a way where he apologizes for hurting her, but not in a way that shows he understands what he did was wrong or allows him to grow emotionally in any satisfying way. I think he's going to feel bad about hurting the woman he loves and not about leaving her a disinherited single mother raising a child she desperately had to hide from the world since she now had all the pressure of being mother to the crown prince but none of the social, political, or even physical protections afforded to her by being royalty. I think it's all going to be about how he made her sad, but not about why he made her sad, if that makes more sense. I hope I'm wrong.

I got nowhere else to throw this in, but does anyone think they're gonna discuss how fucked up it was that he made up his mind about divorcing Astelle and decided he needed to hit at least the one time before dropping the hammer on her? Nauseating shit.

God, this ML is so frustrating i just have to vent.
He KNOWS MC's father is cooking up a scheme, and there might be fighting. He KNOWS thus the capital is dangerous and yet he still insists on taking a 5 year old, who could very well become a hostage to threaten MC with, there.
All because he's afraid the woman he threw away after one night might not want to stay with him.
