maybe I missed it somewhere but why is he agreeing to the deal? He doesn’t really have any form of blackmail over MC. Like the idea was that if MC didnt work for him then he expose him as an unregistered awakener but that’s not true so it doesn’t matter. At worst he get exposed as J then what? Like what is stopping him from publicly admitting to being J and announcing retirement. Unless there’s a law in this universe that all awakeners have to be hunters or government officials then I don’t get what the stakes are in this situation.

I want to know how much it would have helped him if he just mentions in the channel "Dont search for me. J is retired." The intense reaction when he thinks he have to go back to the rifts also doesnt hold much weight. Theyve only shown 1 guy telling him about people will depend on him and the only reason he wants peace is because he skipped 8 years and the world is changed. I dont doubt they would add more to that background but currently it is just a flawed reaction and reason to why hes so against his J identity.
