Was hoping that it was a new chapter... Nope, still chapter 43.
Is there just a lack of translator for this or was it axed/author died?

@TetraSky Amazon sells up to vol.7 and MU says "Vol. 7(discontinued?)" so maybe it was axed

If I remember right the author is known for just dropping stuff and this was never officially axed, just on indefinite hiatus by the author.

Still thinking about this one, I think I found out many years back that the author has fragile health, his twitter isn't active anymore being his last post in 2024 (But I remembered following his R-18 account though I forgot if he even has one, because I also ranted way back on my FB about he's busy drawing R-18 rather than resuming his comics). At this point, I just wish he's still alive though I THINK his artstyle was inherited by Itachi (The Artist for Hagani and Makeine comics)

Bought the physical comic back in around 2011 because it looks cute, and I just truly fell in love with it, I think it is being published here in my country until volume 6, I have them all (If I didn't lose them).

It is not until 2013 that I found out it has an anime, this was memorable because I truly like the comic so much that I forgot to research about it on the internet (I usually research anything that I bought from the bookstore)

But yeah, sad it was officially cancelled but I truly understands that the author got hit with bunch of artblocks because I myself couldn't even see the ending for this one, this and Gisele Alain are my favorites. The closest modern equivalent of this is probably Komi-san (Where one class filled with unique characters) but if you have other similar titles please do reply.

A recent recco would be Mane mane nichi nichi, which is just wonderful. Every character, even the male baseball clubmembers who are more "background" characters, are unique individuals (but not to the point of wacky silliness - it all remains realistic).

Another would Murenase! Seton gakuen, which is a bit more thirsty (tho quite innocent, really). Tho I admit, I'm only putting this one here because everyone should have some Chii in their lives...

But really tho, all the characters are just lovely. In case it wasn't clear - the premise is a setting where animals can talk, with the female gender of said animals taking on a mostly human form. It's never explained why this is. And they attend school. I just love the various running jokes which get established throughout the series and keep coming back at the perfect moment.
