I think I prefer the race between Togashi and Nigami being in a tunnel as compared to the open field used in the movie. It really accentuates the sense of isolation that Nigami feels as he realizes the frustration he has with himself.

Haven't watch the movie (might wait for it until I finished reading the Manga) but that change sounds wild... as said above the atmosphere in the tunnel is great.
