Why are people getting to the conclusion that it was axed?
It was pretty interesting read, and ending didn't actually seemed that rushed as some people are making it to be here.
Tbh knowing Tagami, Youko & Reika's character, I'm pretty satisfied with the end.
It was a fun short read.

@Umairuem i agree, probably not an axe but perhaps a mistiming, where they didn’t realize they could’ve benefitted from an extra chapter to have amore fleshed out ending. Having just written that... Then again, I can’t see how they could’ve filled that extra chapter. It’s not like they’d have a drawn out battle with the poachers or a face reveal of the observers, or the poacher’s ship.

@Lexical exactly. Expanding it any longer would've only made it boring probably. We got to know everything about the "focused" characters and their conclusions. We found out about all the "established" mysteries around this whole poaching thing.
I don't thing we really wanted to see "THEM" or the poacher's whole thing necessarily. This conclusion was pretty satisfied for this 2-volume story.

How come I can't see the update is coming, it's been 2 days late. I'm proud this is done.
Thank you for translating (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤

@Alsimec isn't there the immortality factor to that place? as in she's stuck in limbo where time is meaningless to her and she cannot die?

what an a acceptable ending, with this kind of plot this is pretty good way to end the series knowing the plot is kinda hard to extend more, at least most of the world of it already explained.
overall interesting plot and character, thanks for the good works.

Truly, the only reason geniuses are rare and so few in between, is that any more than one true genius at any one time would probably spell disaster for all of humanity.

Thank you for the translation!

Also ahhh, somehow I just can't really feel satisfied with this ending...I dunno, I wish there was more of a feeling of a reward. Staying in a sandbox, with only your own memories to use as template pieces...I dunno that just sounds so unfulfilling.
There's no communication, no new information flow for her from now on because she's shut herself in single player minecraft essentially
I think being surrounded by highly advanced aline tech and all the "they" (presumably an intergalatic society) stuffs, I think she could take in a huge amount of information and even become earth's embassador

So she became GLaDOS at the end. She's a Valve fangirl! That scene where she briefly imagined Gordon Freeman when she first found a crowbar, it was all foreshadowing! It was foreshadowed!

Seems like quite a short-term solution. When Reika eventually dies (injuries, old age etc.), won't the poachers just try again, since there will still be no witness?
Reika won’t die. She’s got a spaceship keeping her alive? Remember?
Why are people getting to the conclusion that it was axed?

I honestly don’t know, but I think the incredibly abrupt end was what prompted it, I think. I think the story was building up to more

It’s a decent ending by any means, and it’s vaguely implied that reika’s doing more than just fucking with the poachers stuck on her ship, but not elaborated on
