This reminds me of, when I was six, my family moved into our newly build home and one of the first things I have done, was to scribble all over my bedroom floor with permanent marker... I don't remember how, but my father managed to remove it.

Reminds me of something from the age of 3, was left alone for an entire afternoon-evening-night and decided to clean. (from around 13 to 7, so roughly 18h.)
Managed to not only coat entire floors and lower half of all walls+most furniture with soap, but thoroughly rubbed it in too..
Let's just say they weren't exactly overjoyed by that when they got home. =p
(Took months to get rid of the soap-stench, for one.)

I'm perfectly aware I were no angel back in my early childhood, parents weren't that great either though so not much of a surprise.
Never had issues with the kids I raised, but one of them did thoroughly rub marmalade into a very expensive handmade carpet once when others were supposed to care for him that day.
("Supposed to" because they didn't even try and just ignored him, he was close to 4 and got pissed since they had ignored his need for help for hours already.)
The fact he could do something like that which easily takes many hours without anyone noticing/stopping him, testified to how badly he got ignored.

Isopropanol should remove the scribble easily enough. Ethanol might as well. Paint thinner naturally would do it.
