I fucking hate this mc. We're 170 chapters in and he's still pulling this insecure shit. How can any person like a character who puts other's lives at risk to fuel his own insecurities and ego as a protagonist? I'd understand if he were going to grow or change but we're 3/5 through the manga and he hasn't changed a bit, he's still a piece of shit.

He may be a piece of shit but he's had a huge change in the few weeks since we met him. Homie would've rather let innocent civilians die before he shot his gun and now he kills effortlessly, he also "breaks the law" alot more now with the exception of the gun and sword one.
Just gotta accept that his insecure personality is just who he is but his actions have definitely changed.
