You don't need to be a westerner to have western sensibilities.
If you've watched American movies, surf the internet and can speak english, you've come in contact with such ideas and have been influenced by them.
And it's by no means "basic". For most of history, people married younger than 18 all the time, and there were much bigger age gaps than nowadays.

It really bothers me when people use history as some sort excuse/justification for pedophilia. It is like trying to put lipstick on a pig—it doesn’t change the fact that it’s unacceptable.
Sure, history is essential & can teach us a lot, but it also doesn’t change the fact that time have changed, what might have been accepted or misunderstood in the past doesn’t make it right today.

That was not my intent, though. I don't care to try and excuse or argue either for or against pedophilia, age of consent and the like.
That's a moral issue, and regardless of what I think about it, I do agree that appeals to history and tradition do not hold when it comes to morality.
My intention was just to point out that since it has changed through history, and it's still different from culture to culture, it's not "basic", because then it really should be something incredibly obvious, which it just isn't or there wouldn't have been wildly different opinions on it throughout time.
Same for my first comment. Whether western sensibilities are reasonable and whether yours are is not important. If you ask "why don't they seem to care about her being so much younger?", the answer is "it's Japan and it's the end of the world, they just don't".
