Ofc they were dying. They raised their death flags then stupidly lost their cool against OP monsters and gave their life 1 by 1. Glad I wasn't attached to them.

Without MCs buff it seems all the soldiers can't follow basic orders of retreating and moving together

Remember these monsters are stuff of nightmares that MC's aura (his 1st skill) suppressed the fear of for his soldiers. In a way, the MC spoiled them. But man I thought my expectations would be subverted and they would live. But it ended up subverting my later expectations of thinking they would live with some plot armour. Fucking hell.
