Lucas doesn’t care about his opponents and focus’s on the main commander/Ashe’s opponent.

Evelangline is protecting the flank.

Daimian is targeting the people threatening Lucas.

Well no shit, considering Ash and the gang is literally doing their absolute best defending Southern front for many defense battles, not to mention seeking of reinforcement. Yes the first reinforcement were the former shadow corp consist of elves. But the actual reinforcement by the Empire were not given by Ash.
So i see no reason why Ash should obediently follow the emperor decree if he was not given an ample amount of reinforcement.
Yes the empire did send actual reinforcement but that was a token reinforcement, 3 airships, mages and 50 soldiers. But the rest just gonna summon ash? I'm sorry i understand and support ash decision on this one (And this will not aged like wine but instead milk)

I love that everyone immediately armed themselves, even those in the back on the walls, were all hostile once they realized the empire is planning to force their commander to go back. I know Ash is loved, but I still adore this sort of scenes were it's clear who the people in the southern front align themselves with. Screw empire reinforcements, mess with their commander, and the everyone will go feral xD
