Tbh, does not make much sense. Like if he was the count of the fort then why does the prince no have the army. How is that count keeping his army stocked when he lost his title. Feels a bit silly.

Not really, you should remember that Prince Ash was a newly appointed lord of Crosroad. And he just arrived at Crossroad not too long ago. It means the front count gave away he's title not too long ago too. Meaning he's still the lord of crossroad not too long ago. So it's not silly for him to still have a private army

It is because with the Prince taking over the count would lose his army because he does not hold the title anymore. The upkeep of an army would be huge and the army would be based in the fort city don't you think? Also when the prince would have arrived think the count or the person in charge would hand over all the things of the place.
