Like with the spear companion MC let good people die so to force the awakening of the character, being pushed to the wall and almost losing everything is their trigger, and MC is a detached emperor that will accept any sacrifice for the survival and rule of humanity.
MC could have easily stopped both targedies, but he had to let them happen, he knows his actions are changing the story in the book, after all taking the empire rule and killing a ton of people hostile to him because of orders + the execution of demon spies can't possibly have left the story go as normal, it is weird in fact that the demon teacher gone with his massacre anyway.
Is like some events are fixed to a specific date...maybe the demons are acting following the future eyes stuff they were talking of some chapters ago, and that means some things like this had to happen in that specific day, would explain why MC is so sure his actions are not changing the story he knows.
MC said he read the magic theory solution in the book, that for some reason was detailed, so is possible that he himself doesn't fully understands it and can't teach it to the actual inventor.
Is highly likely that the book MC got was some diary of the future sent to the past in his hands, to save humanity, or course in a medieval setting a book with relatively few copies wouldn't survive hundred of years, but it makes more sense if it was only one and that was the reason it happened to be in MC library.
