I'm not sure I understand the wife's reason for killing herself. Just that she can't watch her husband die? That seems cruel. I guess she's doing this to save him. But she could do the research now without dying right? This just feels like a selfish sacrifice, if that makes sense. It must be further explained later, how her death is necessary to extend his life. But this just seems like she's forcing her future survivor's guilt onto him preemptively. Not cool.

I don’t think she’s actually dead, she just faked her death to go do research to fix the problem of clones having shortened lifespans. BTW this isn’t a problem anymore, we figured out how to regrow the telomeres in somatic cells so that clones have normal life expectancies already IRL.

This whole thing is kind of convoluted, it’s not like she would kill everyone on a plane to do this. Then again all the other passengers may be in on it. A woman at the airport said her husband who was a doctor was on the plane and a man said his daughter who was a PHD student was on the plane too. They were supposedly doing a medical mission, that’s a good enough excuse to get a bunch of scientists on a plane together.

Wait so that means the MC is a clone and she's researching a way to extend his life? If it's true that he died and this is just a clone then this is one hell of a plot twist.

Either he is a clone, or he was gravely injured, and they had to use that technology to fix him up, which cut down his lifetime.

That's it!

Their plane didn't crash; it vanished because it was supposed to. Based on the medical personnel heavy passenger list seemingly; very likely the group was recruited to some sort secretive medical research center. Akin to a CIA Blacksite or an Area 51 type of thing.
