Perhaps you mean without requiring the MMC to actually exist. All of this could be happening inside the FMC's head, after finally cracking due to loneliness and isolation. She's imagining a boy approaching her and thus naturally needs to speak his lines as well; an imaginary friend can't speak, after all.
