@ayami123 if my comment is enough for you to judge me as a 'newbie' in this 'Smut Genre' then I hope for God to take away your ability to judge anything forever because you're bad at it. BAD.
I'm criticized this because the characterization of the Prince that was high-key trap her into the role she didn't want. Yes his whole attitude of 'heart-over-heels' in love with MC is something of female fantasy, and yes I kinda like his speech of 'I will not let you go again' bc let's be real here, if I have some overly handsome Prince in love with me and will chase me into the end of the world because they want to be with me then I will swoon so hard ngl. The only exception is, if I don't like the Prince. Bc I don't love him. It was so simple honestly. And MC, (even if I forgot why she didn't want to be the Crown Princess) still choose to not wanna be the Prince's bride. It's her choice.
I have a whole criticism speech for the characterization of her parents too, bc for them to be the Duke and Duchess they keep aside 'Father and Mother' of MC's, and honestly I can't blame them bc their whole government system is monarchy with strong patriarchy that was typical for fantasy setting in shoujo mangas. But THEN the Duke give those speech of want her daughter 'to be happy'?? but he did not even hear her daughter
strong objection to the whole engagement?? Like, what??? Is this even a case of miscommunication???? Isn't she happy if they annul the engagement???? Is this a case of 'Parents know best for their children' thing????
So, I will say he didn't sincerely have the 'best' for his daughter, bc that tiny bit of Duke's attitude
sure whisper a bit about the glory of connection with royal family.
But I digress. Maybe the answer is as simple as just plot convenient.
And with the latest chapter out, my only impression of them are the Prince low-key gaslighting MC with sex and her parent 'intentionally' guilt-tripping her. And that's where I'm drawing the line.
Before I forget; I'm casual reader of Smut Genre. But I'm more familiar with fanfics and doujins, not shoujo/josei mangas. Because my preferred type of tropes are more explored in those medias. They have more in-depth plots and variety. That's why I can say this manga is good for casual read, 'you wanna have some doki-doki smut in an afternoon' thing, but bad for in-depth read bc you will 'read' it further and see some alarming things.
And 'chicks fantasy'? I will very disappointed with you if you think this is the
peak of 'chicks fantasy'. Fantasized about being chases by hot guys is very different with fantasized with being trapped in some engagement with a hot guy that we didn't even like.
TL;DR; My problem is with the characterizations and the potential direction the plot's going on, not the smut itself.
@dnngok did you even read those comments? their (and my) problem is with the Prince characterization (in this earlier chapters) which is shady, iffy, lowkey yandere to MC, not about the smut scenes. For those that didn't read the webnovel or sees NU summary+tags, this manga summary seems like "strong FL finds her way to freedom" story, so to read about all her startegy and exit plans gets blocked are really upsetting, like
@Cerenium said in earlier comment
and to
@rikiwichman, idk about other commenters previously, but at least I knew some of them said they are dropping this. As in stop reading this. They are already move on from this manga. I am too, but I need to address your comment first.
We didn't 'putting down' the mangaka's hard work, we just have problem with some of the elements in the story plot. The artstyle is beautiful, more power to the mangaka tbh. Thanks a lot too for translator for their hard work to produce the translations.
