See, unlike "To Be a Power in the Shadows", I actually enjoy this one. In large part because the main character isn't a brain damaged chuuni, and is instead someone that knows and full well acknowledges what they are doing is fake, but due to circumstances, can't do anything but keep the act up.

I know I'll prolly catch hate for saying this, but that was a large part of my issue with "To Be a Power in the Shadows", how unbelievably, over the freakin top chuuni it was. And the fact that the author just made the MC's made up chuuni bs work. That kind of thing can be interesting or tolerable in side characters personally, but when that is the entire focus of the MC of the story, it's too much personally.

From what I was able to understand of "To be a Power in the Shadows", MC is doesn't have chuuni, just really enjoyed acting like one. Think of someone in your life who enjoyed a particular style, but not into it. Stuff like goth, medieval, Greek/Roman, Viking. It's not my culture, but if someone drag me to a fair/event with those gear available & I don't have to worry about it affecting my normal life, hell yeah I'll have some fun.
If he was really a chuuni, he would believe his act, but all of the mob-fu (blood bag & other prop) show that he doesn't believe it to be real, but make the extra effort to make it entertaining.

That being said, the fact that random stuff he said just work out is kinda annoying.
