These one shots always get me. That's such a great premise for a story (phone out of sync). My only complaint is that present Kaho was just... present. She was barely even present. It would've been nice to get her perspective on the whole "My boyfriend is talking to a future version of myself living in a world where said boyfriend died." I mean the two didn't even have a heart to heart. I feel like there could've been a good explosion of emotion if alternate timeline Kaho let her frustration out on present Kaho (being jealous of herself). Heck, we don't even see present Kaho's reaction to being broken up with the reasoning of "Well, I guess it's not fair to your alternate version I talk to on the phone."

You know it'd be neat to see other one-shots with this premise. It's pretty infinite for stories. Just the idea of communication out of sync.

What about his current kaho's phone partner? He saw her talking on the phone at the poster the next day, so she definitely at least had a past day him. Did she stop talking to him when they got together, or was her partner one who died in the traffic accident?

To be fair he did come to terms with it, since he immediately thought he couldn't blame her if she did since he couldn't be by her side anymore, which just thickens the fist that gut punches you harder since he can't accept that fact but can't really do anything about it.
