I'm not making any assumptions, but am only going by what I read. Perhaps the mistranslation should have been "toy with him." And I never said malicious, and never even thought that. Not all of the females that toy with their victims are being malicious, some are doing so because the don't have the courage to confess themselves (like Takagi). If I thought she actually hated him, then, yeah, I'd think she was being malicious, but she doesn't seem to hate him. No doubt she will actually eventually fall in love with him, but who knows how many chapters that will take.

Aren't you just playing a semantics game? Tease, toy, play? What's the difference? If anything, tease can also have negative connotations:

Interesting wonder where there relationship goes from here kind of gives me 3d kanojo vibes accept the protagonist actually goes for the girl hd likes himself making the move.

Think she dates him on the whim saying her last relationship broke up because her boyfriend was more popular than her but didnt change to match him. So she likes he had the courage to change for the person she likes. About the toying thing think she just thinks will be cute going out with an awkward guy she seems genuine good person so she wont hurt him.

hmm, I'm gonna give it a few more chapters. I like the fact the Mc had the guts to confess, especially in front of the class like that. So it puts him a couple notches over a lot of other spineless mc in stories like this. You can already tell her guy friend is gonna be one of those dudes. As long as the mc continues to nut up and their interaction is fun, it should be good...I hope.

Look at my translation for a different interpretation of that line. What Miki says in "Ato ijirigainoaru yatsu" which means "a guy who kind of fumbles around." So the literal translation would be: "I like guys like that who has a side of him that fumbles around." So someone who's kind of shy, clumsy, stutters and turns red, etc. My translation focused on those "reactions" that she likes, so mine was: "Plus, I like it when they react like that." I'm sure she'll set up situations where he'll show off his clumsiness, but in my opinion, the previous translation came out a little too mean. This girl is actually very nice. She's the one who stopped and apologized for her friend and who remembered this guy's name (notice the MC didn't even know the girl's name) that she has never spoken to, and noticed and remembered good things about a boy she had a brief encounter with. She's not a bitch or someone stuck up. She's also someone who's pretty self-assured. The previous translation mistranslated why she broke up with her boyfriend. What she actually said was that her hair was a source of embarrassment for her boyfriend (kareshi NI fuhyou "disgrace/embarrassment TO boyfriend). The mistranslation makes it sound like she was shallow enough to dump her boyfriend because she didn't feel as pretty as him. So that kept being an issue bewteen them, and rather than to change something like that just to suit him, she dumped him. I'm pointing this out to everyone who commented on this because I think that was a gross mischaracterization of her character, and if true, would make this title pretty distasteful for many readers (which is another reason why the author wouldn't write it that way).

I should say I also messed up my translation. I noticed it on re-reading. About the daily report, it should be something like, "No way, I know you'll just fill it with garbage" as in, the boy is going to just make up stuff to fill the space rather than actually record what happened that day. I might go fix it, or not.
