Why does GL in general love heartbreak "she left me for a man" stories so damn much? Like I get the point of having some such stories, but I've seen it re-hashed so many damn times, so I must assume there's people out there who want to read these sorts of stories over and over...?

I can only think to presume that it is some particular variety of enjoyment-of-angst that, I, personally, am not attuned to.

@KAFi: I could be wrong and just projecting (and I didn't rate this), but I extend my above statement as a hypothesis (i.e. fatigue from having a disproportionate amount of this sort of story in GL)
