The prince is shocked they attacked with one (1) explosion and a handfull of guys with swords? What was he expecting, a confetti cannon and inflatable hammers?

I believe the explosive marbles are a new weapon to them. MC himself was rushing back to the wedding to warn them of these things. So I'm guessing he was expecting a skirmish, not bombs.
