I think the clerk from earlier who tried to scam him with an overpriced music box is awesome. Not only did she not fold under his gaze, she also read his personality perfectly - she figured out that he's a pushover to whom she can sell overpriced goods
I've never been clear on the difference between nobility and gang leaders, actually. They both get their status from being the boss of a bunch of heavily armed dangerous people.
Changes from the novel: Originally the clerk at the store was asking him for the reason for the refund before realizing the shoes were way too small for him. He liked the design but they didn't fit and got scammed into buying them anyway. Another thing in the novel was that the guards were too afraid to touch him so they demanded his ID from a distance.
