her parents and his parents all approve of the marriage, and he’s too timid to express any disagreement, and everyone else but his assistant believes he has the personality of a cold bloodthirsty killer which would totally explain why they don’t have any chemistry yet

Oh don't get me wrong, I read way too many romance novels. I've read nearly a few thousand ( or so at this point) romance containing or romance focused mangas. I just wouldn't assume someone will come to love me, but I also live in a different society than her and lack her level of self-confidence (or pride).
