This should be studied in writing schools as "what NOT to do".
The MC is an unknow quantity, an anonymous anomaly, but the world still behave in a way that wouldn't make sense if they weren't here.
E.G.:
When the MC takes the academy exams, out of nowhere they change the last exam from 1-on-1 fight to "all applicants together VS a dragon". The MC is the ONLY one that could fight the dragon. If he wasn't there, EVERYONE ELSE would have died/be disqualified. The only reason for that is because the author wanted a cool fight, but there's no valid justification in-world.
