This girl was straight up like, "I wanna be a girl. I hate my dick. I wanna be a lesbian. I want a vagina. I want breasts." And we still got people on here striking people for calling her trans. What was that meme again? One day, we're gonna get an anime character to look straight into the camera and say in perfect English. "I am a trans woman." And ya'll would still call her a femboy and not trans lmao
In no moment the character said anything like that. You oughta stop, seriously, not everything is about transexuality. You wanting to put tags onto something that is not there is extremely annoying because it tries to limit what a story wants to convey with a simple tag.

If the rate of people like you calling something trans were actually right, we would have gone crazy just by female teenagers having their first menstruation pains and them wishing that they'd be male instead to avoid the pain - because by your people standard, that must mean she is a he when it's clearly just them trying to avoid pain instead of them FEELING as another gender.

Careful. You don't wanna get banned for being reasonable.

I already deleted two draft replies because it'll probably get me banned again. Can't really talk reason on this forum.

Also, @Drake68655 @aliteralpixie you two cowardly little shits ever gonna actually interact with the conversation at all?

You 2 are clearly invested enough to keep spamming X and :slap:
I can already see that half of the fun of this manga is gonna come from reading the comments left by people going crazy.
Remember that chapter discussions are meant for discussing chapters, not site metadata. Don't forget about humour.
You weren't kidding @Manko-sensei. This comment section is a jackpot! Hurray for traps! :kek:

EDIT: I forgot to write my actual thoughts about the chapter, whoops. It's a shame someone already found out already, I was hoping it'll be like Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru. But I guess it can still work with just one person knowing. (Page 25)

Great gif indeed, but regrettably this title has unleashed a new "edit war" that can only end by the mods stepping in and locking manual edit. Some people must have nightmares when someone else disagrees with them over puny details even if they're the ones in the wrong. If you're interested, there's also drama in Dynasty, so prepare popcorn and ice-cream.

I do wonder if it'll actually become overt in whether or not the protagonist has dysphoria and wants to be a girl, or if the protagonist just wants a different appearance so people wouldn't be so afraid, and the being so enamored with the cutesy girls of the yuri otome game are what's being latched onto as "an iteration of 'self' that would be less scary and thus allow for meaningful relationships".

Because there's a big difference between wanting to be a different gender than the one you are for the sake of your mental health and self-image, and wanting to present differently for the sake of facilitating better relationships with others.
And right now it's not exactly clear cut as to which of those camps (or any potential third I didn't think of at the time) that the protagonist falls into.
And I do think that the freaking out over still having all the male anatomy could be read as dysphoria, sure, but the fact that the protagonist immediately recalled a Game Event where a dude got onto campus and was caught and subsequently pilloried makes me think that the protagonist might actually be worried about being caught as "a boy in a very strict all-girls' school", because of what might happen if other people find out the truth.
Which, again, the latter isn't a trans-coded lamentation, but a personal safety one based around the perception of others, rather than the self.

Maybe these questions will be answered, maybe this will continue being a femboy/crossdressing fiasco of hijinks as the protagonist tries to hid the truth from the rest of the school (and inevitably the core "Capture Heroines" all find out the truth).
Either way I think the premise outside of all of that is interesting (Yuri-Not-Yuri is quite the bait and switch, given last I saw it would appear even the author isn't giving a decisive answer to the question), so hopefully all of this doesn't get in the way of enjoying the upcoming chapter releases.

There shouldn’t be a war over the tags because the official tags for the manga have yuri has one of the tags and the author other works are all yuri. I’ve also read all of the official English release and the character is clearly trans with even stating that they want to be seen as a girl that they wish they were born as a girl. Mangadex shouldn’t remove the yuri tag when that is what the manga is.

Note that all this discussion is about one sole chapter that has barely introduced the series, so any kind of conclusion is precipitate. The reason why this work had "girl's love" tag on MangaDex is because it is tagged as "yuri" on ComicFesta, and it doesn't mean the protagonist must be the one doing the yuri (it's about a yuri school, without reading more chapters I'd just expect the rest of the students do that part). Another tag that appears on the Japanese site is "Gap Man", which essentially means "not what's expected from a man". If it's not explanative enough, it's a vague concept that's usually used in both crossdressing and genderbending series but for many it just means effeminate. Personally, I'd be happy with just the original tags appeared unadulterated because otherwise it becomes another hell like this.
I put these three tags as a spoiler despite being crystal clear on ComicFesta but it may help understand why these three other are.

LOL the fact that "yuri" just likely pertains to other characters outside the protagonist is just a huge blind spot & oversight on my part, so I rescind anything I said regarding that tag in particular.

The "Gap Man" is actually a cool tag to see because I really enjoy getting nuanced characters that behave outside of the 'established tropes/expected roles' so often portrayed.

But otherwise, yeah - trying to diagnose a character off an introductory chapter is a bad move even if done as an idle exercise, and not something I imagine too many MangaDex users are qualified/certified to do, anyway. Myself absolutely included. My ponderings are geared mostly in terms of wondering where the narrative will go and what specific themes on that axis might show up, if any/at all, but like you said - it's one chapter.

And to the core point - it looks fun as hell, and I feel like it's okay to trust a successfully established yuri author to know what they're about in approaching a intersectional story like this with concurrent themes that don't normally get put together in the same narrative.

And the art's pretty good, too, I think.

MC literally says "If only I could abandon this body and be reborn as a beautiful girl". That is the literal definition of trans. You just want to wish it out of existence. That's on you.

Many men want to be Moe girls, not because they're trans, but because they think that life would be easier if they were cute. Naturally a scary looking guy who doesn't have friends and love Yuri would believe that being a girl is better than being a boy

"Trans people: Hey this kinda reads like they're Trans!
The comment section: OMG SHUT THE FUCK UP NOT EVERYTHING IS TRANS AHDUWGGSHSHDH"

GOD FUCKING DAMMIT I know Trans people sometimes jump at the slightest details to say a character is Trans (yay for not being represented in media and having people bitch about it and deny it wether it's subtle or brick to the face direct...

But this one reeks of trans, like bitch wtf the MC is all "oh i wish i was a girl so i could be yuri and everything" (unlike that other recent manga of the gay guy that turns into a girl but really doesn't give off any Trans vibes so gender identity ≠attraction drama wooo).

I don't know if it's yuri, fake yuri, trans, or whatever. All I know is I already love the insanity of the story and I am here for it.

I have bad (or good?) news for you. Cis men do not think about being girls. If someone genuinely thinks and WANTS that, its not just "haha, funny joke". They're probably an egg. Whether they realize it yet or not (or how far they want to take those feelings) the specific reasons why don't really matter in this context. They aren't happy in their own body and they want to look/present differently.
