I suddenly can't edit pages anymore

Hi all, an update of the site just went live, with the following changes.

• The seasonal titles list was updated for Fall 2024 (which was quite overdue...!)
• Multiple chapter languages were added: Afrikaans, Basque, Belarusian, Chuvash, Irish, Javanese, Urdu, Uzbek.
• For some self-published titles, there's now on the title page a button linking to options to support the artist(s).
• The color picker of the custom theme builder has been improved.

As always, this includes some invisible changes as well, and a couple of bug fixes:

• Upload of zip files with uppercase file extensions were wrongly rejected.
• The edit button on some pages overlapped with error-related items.
• When going to the next "page" in long strip mode, the reader snaps to the top of the page if misaligned scrolling-wise.

Finally, we are reenabling the support campaign for a couple of days. It's been a while and some of us have been busy away from MD, so we thank you all for your patience, and for now hope you enjoy your weekend!

Excuse me, I suddenly can't edit pages anymore is this related to the bold marked bug?
Seeing that it only started today or yesterday it probably isn't.
But perhaps it's caused by some new patch, and or bug...?

Do you have any new info? I need to fix something~

What?! Invalid reports? I never ever left a invalid report.
I corrected thousands of errors, not even once was anything invalid or wrong.
My last memorable reports were about someone machine translating and rewriting a series while not even knowing english correspondingly not properly translating them ergo a fake chapter, are you referring to that?

A fake chapter would be intentionally changing the script and/or removing/adding content of the chapter, no matter how bad a translation is (with or without MTL) as long as the chapter is not fully edited with AI tools it doesn't break MangaDex rules (but you can trash it on the comments).

What do you mean by rewrite, changing the MTL to make it more readable or changing the meaning? Many MTL users compare different results and typeset something across them, there's a thread on Scanlation subforum about doing MTL (a guide).

Exactly what it means, changing the actual text content as one pleases, and in this case it's done by someone who doesn't even properly understand english so a real mess...

It might be born out of inability to understand what they are doing, but that doesn't make it correct.

What have you written in the report, providing a proper translation for mods to compare and decide, a confession of the scanlator about intentionally changing the meaning, showing the results of MTL software in comparison to the final script? Or just "this user doesn't know neither Japanese nor English"?

That honestly wasn't necessary, I simply explained how dire the errors were and noted exactly what it was.
Which is mtl + rewrite + not understanding neither japanese or english = Fake chapter.
If you want to I could send you the link to the chapter and also something to compare it to since it's in this rare case also easily available.

Since someone actually putting effort into working on the chapter was sniped, so the chapter is available in 2 versions.

Though honestly reporting a chapter can any member do, it has nothing to do with being a Contributor which makes this even more questionable...

After seeing "my reports" page i'm honestly a bit down, I don't report that often but to refuse all my reports about rewritors... perhaps I shoud just stop reporting rewritors no matter what damage they do... quite saddening...

Even some about missing pages... who even refused them, I mean check it out yourself this chapter is literally just the credit page and 2 pages of the actual chapter...

MangaDex is neither the scanlation police nor a quality assurance site. We don't have rules enforcing minimum quality in any aspect of the scanlation.

If you start submitting reports without any rules to back them up, then you become eligible to have it revoked, under the assumption that you don't understand our rules, we trust our contributors to understand the site rules, you clearly don't, and that's critical.

As for this, submitting a report for missing pages without including the missing pages makes it invalid, we won't go out and look for the missing pages, you have to include them in the report.

You probably won't be granted your roles back due to multiple violations to rule 4.3:

Do not report any releases for any translation or visual quality issues that originate from the scanlator. These reports will be ignored and your ability to make reports may be restricted.

I got my contributor status back in 2018 and not for reports but to edit and fix stuff, i'm not that sure how I got it at the time perhaps after being noticed about noting and fixing various errors and requesting it.

And I don't remember this rule, but to be honest the last time I read the rules was on the old version of the site, probably also in 2018, but yeah that was my error didn't know about this kind of rule being implemented.
Sorry about that if rewrite doesn't fall under the fake chapter categorie.

But now I know so please give me the abilty to edit back, someone has to fix those errors and seeing that they are years old, it somehow tends to be me.
