Why would she only make one for herself, nothing for the dude? He ought to be her guest, considering she could marry him (so he's not a brother or something) and since she's cooking, it's her home. What kind of host makes a pancake for themselves and then just eats it with a guest watching from the other side of the table? He was happy to receive the fragment, so that tells us he hasn't got a medical condition preventing him from eating them, which would have explained why she didn't make one for him as well.

wow. in this story's simplicity lies a profound exploration of human relationships and the nature of generosity. through the seemingly mundane act of sharing a single pancake, the narrative unfurls layers of introspection, inviting readers to contemplate the dynamics of giving and receiving within the context of love and companionship. the protagonist's internal deliberation over how much of her pancake to share encapsulates the hesitations and vulnerabilities inherent in opening oneself up to another.

yet, it is through the unexpected reaction of the man and his genuine gratitude for even the smallest portion of her pancake that the story unveils a profound truth: that true connection transcends material possessions and hinges on the willingness to share oneself entirely. the culminating moment, where the woman contemplates giving the man the whole pancake, serves as a metaphorical revelation of trust and surrender, underscoring the transformative power of genuine reciprocity in relationships.

with its subtle yet resonant exploration of human nature, this manga stands as a testament to the depth of philosophical inquiry that can be found within the simplest of narratives. 10 out of 10.

Well if they’re already chilling like that, makes sense these two are already in a relationship.

Of course the plot twist would be they’re chilling together because they’re siblings. :meguusmug:

It's just a pancake. When he reacted like WOW, IT WAS YOUR PANCAKE after he was given this tiny slice, I couldn't help but feel like there was something wrong with his brain. Might as well be thankful he's breathing the air in what's probably her house. I could have understood if it was something like a stew made out of vegetables she personally grew.

But I do like this one-shot overall, just because it's kind of cute how she wants to marry him right after seeing him be unexpectedly grateful...
