lol @Kaiofficialone tbf kaori is definitely a more interesting and stronger character than maho who is just a 'nice pure girl'. So the contrast can be quite... invigorating.

I'm starting to think Litchi Hikari Club was a fluke - its surreal plot which made it so appealing at all, wasn't intentional, and maybe it's just how clumsy the author's storytelling is.

I mean this chapter the girl's persona straight up narrated and self-diagnosed her own sob story/disorder, and that night the boy cried into a pillow, under moonlight (which in Japanese culture is a Soseki cliche symbol for love/longing).
I guess it is interesting, in a theatrical way.
