MC's "friend" just ripped him off; he brought around 50 swords, and she told him she could sell them for 6,000 gold each for a total of around 300,000 gold, but he would only get 100,000 gold despite doing all the farming and crafting himself.

Yea, but she'll have to spread them far and wide, else she'd flood the market and only get maybe a thousand each, or just not be able to sell them. And she's the one taking that risk if she buys them all from him at once. (Most likely she'll have to resell most of them for maybe 3k each, so they can travel to regions where someone would still be willing to pay 6k for them.)
That bit about the risk is also why she's asking him to only sell to her. (Even if she has no way of making him comply.) Because if he then turns around and sells 50 swords to the next merchant, and the next merchant - well, all the merchants in the region would be well and duly screwed (and there would probably be a lot of well-armed bandits in the region in the near future) XD

Meyer only said he 'could get at least 100,000' and the swords may sell up to 6000 apiece. It's not a guarantee.
Ever watched Pawn Stars? They don't buy at retail prices since they won't make a profit when they sell the item. And since his production cost is zero, Touji will make 100% profit regardless of how much he sells it for.
