Don't mind too much , but the whole ghost girlfriend getting posed by ANOTHER ghost being left up in the air seems odd.

Edit: it was ONE TYPO.

NOOOOOOOO I CAUGHT UP!!!!

I just decided to read this because I saw it on the "Recently Updated" tab and thought, "Eh, I'm in the mood for a Twitter web-manga," not knowing that I would actually get really hooked LMAOOO

I don't understand the low rating for this manga. It's better than 90% of what's out there.
A 7.83 is a good rating and it seems fairly popular everywhere else.

I personally do think their reunion and being together again fell flat and is kind of a slog dynamic wise.
Mostly one liners and no meaningful interactions when the main story isn‘t involved further takes away from what I enjoyed most- the characters (mainly MCs)

I do like the mystery and story and only stay around for that now tbh

It's my experience that works that dip below an 8 tend to be poorly executed or, at the very least, extremely generic. And, while not a masterwork by any means, this really isn't either or those. I figure it deserves to be in the low 8s for what it is.

On reflection, I think the lowish rating might be due to a lot of people who read the first dozen or so chapters and dropped it before the twist was revealed. It has an inordinate number of 1 ratings.

It's the 99¢ Effect. It looks low because the first digit is 7, even though it's basically an 8.
It's ironic that the imprecision you say I'm guilty of is exactly what caused you to assume that 7.83 is "basically an 8".

It's not. It's really not.

Because this site has thousands of manga with scores derived from millions of votes, there is great significance to the exact score. The greater these numbers become, the more meaningful every decimal place becomes. More data = greater precision.

When mediocre to garbagey stuff like Shinkon Quest or Boku to Gal ga Fufu ni Narumade are in the mid-8s? Nah.
Maybe. Although, I personally wouldn't pay much mind to the on the ratings on here anyway. Ratings alone can feel rather misleading at times.

It'd be a whole other thing if we were able to leave a little review alongside the ratings left. That way there's a better idea of what to expect other than "Oh, this is rating x/10 it must be good/bad", meanwhile a bunch of those ratings could just be cause of the art style/quality. Or maybe some that was left during earlier chapters and the story turned to shit part-way but some people never updated their rating. Or any number of reasons.

If you round 7.83 to the nearest whole number, it's eight. It's even more than 75% of the way to eight. It's more than 80% of the way to eight. If this was a supermajority vote between 7 and 8, it'd be an 8 by most standards. And if you really care about accuracy and precision, it's 7.83, which is not 7.00. It is by all metrics closer to 8 than it is to 7.

But also, why do you even care about the ratings this much? I doubt there are very many people who decide whether they'll read something or not based on the rating.
