It's refreshing to read a series where the samurai preach and act on samurai ideals and virtues rather than just letting the archetype serve as simple background character information

@Cerisine Yeah. Between that and the presence of things like social and technological changes putting pressure on those ideals, and major characters from the peasant world who consider it all madness (which it, um, kind of is) there's this really cool, complex exploration of the whole gig.

U.S. cap and ball revolvers (among others) were somewhat popular in the Edo/Late Edo period. Looks like the boys found a good ol' Colt model 1851 Navy, but then again, they all look the same to me!

I wont buy the reason those guys dont wear a chainmail because they want to gamble on speed. Its too stupid and ridiculous, but I'd like to think they thought wearing chainmail wouldn't make any different since imuta is a monster
