Wait, I don't understand. Did she blow herself up fearing that MC would get out of control?
Maybe not because he was out of control per se, but whatever he was emitting might've scared her enough to think it would've been life-threatening. I think she used the concussion from the blast to dodge it, as an act of desperation.

Whatever the reason for the blast though, the only reason this fight happened in the first place is her fault.

To be fair, she was already freaking out that she couldn't cut him and that her explosions were doing less to him as time went on. If she saw him start changing into a monster with different hair and eye colors right before taking a swing at her. . . yeah, getting the hell away would seem like a great idea.

She blew herself up to gain distance from his punch. The skull you saw was there to signify her seeing her own death in that punch. Shouldn't be that surprising given she already failed to properly cut him while having her souldress active

So, she saw death knowing she was going to die with that punch so she blew herself back to escape death. Am I right? If not that please anyone tell me.

how op is this world that millions of years of training leave you looking like that when fighting vs an "attendant"
I don't think it's that he's not super strong, He's literally fighting at probably not even half of what he's fully capable of. He's only using physical abilities when he fights most people who use soul dressing and other methods of going all out on him. As we saw with this battle he quite literally tanked everything and was still going to fight barehanded and even when she got an extremely good cut on him it only made a shallow wound. So yes the world is op but it's not like he's weak cause as we saw his spirit core it doesn't cooperate and let him use the full totality of his power cause even Claude surrendered when she sensed something during the final attack.

I wonder how it would look if he was to go actually all out on someone:finnawoke:

Also I'm guessing the author didn't want it to be lame op one sided fights? Cause those always get boring and have less weight. The MC has no talent so apparently all that time and he's only marginally better then others really shows he shouldn't be a swordsman lol if it took him that much just to become great.

you don't start a fight (with or without weapons) without the determination to destroy your opponent, and (almost) all fcking japs mcs don't have that.

We have a idea when his "dark side" came out, literally no one could stop him, he had to regain control.
More than likely he's strong enough to destroy entire armies, but he has absolutely no idea how to pull his full power directly.

Agreed. It is understandable if he only trained for one or two hundred years or even a thousand years. But we're talking million years here thats a lot
He spent million years swinging a sword. Not mastering anything, simply swinging a sword (The fact that he was only able to come up with 2 or 3 techniques shows his overall talent). Physically, no one can even match him but he still around an intermediate level when it comes to actual swordsmanship. As shown time and time again, he can't match those with actual talent with a sword so he brute force it with strength, speed or both.

Think of it like this. If I spent a million years doing pushups and throwing jabs, I'm going to be JACKED and most likely able to destroy someone with a single punch....but that won't make me a master martial artist.
