As predicted, Ibuki and the Black Stars won, and Yuuri got eliminated. It was the most natural choice from a narrative standpoint, with Yuuri having fully realized her character arc, but still satisfying; the discussion among the judges did a good job of creating some tension that maybe they'd pick one of the reserves. In contrast to Mei's elimination, Yuuri has no regrets and really has her future lined up for her after this. It'll be interesting to see what variety of reactions we get from the eliminated contestants as we progress. The impact of Yuuri's elimination on the remaining contestants will mainly be felt by Tsumugi, but I don't expect she'll waver after she finishes a good cry. Tsumugi has grown past needing her sister with her.

I'm guessing next chapter will give us new rankings for the remaining 14 contestants, meaning new White and Black teams, evenly split 7/7. I'm not going to guess exact ranks, but here's how I think the teams will shake out:

Ritsu will stay in the White Stars, probably even hold on to number 1.
Mimi will stay in the White Stars; she'll drop some ranks for her loss, but I don't think this was so crushing a defeat for her to fall all the way out.
Michiru will stay in the White Stars, maybe become the new number 2.
Shiori will drop into the Black Stars for the first time; there's no getting around that after losing 7-0. I'm very interested to see how she does from here.
Hibana... might hang on in the White Stars. The judges spoke well of her, even as a reserve. Maybe she holds on, but...
Suzu will drop back into the Black Stars, and...
Karin will drop back into the Black Stars. They were on the chopping block; they've got a lot of work to do.

Ibuki will rise back into the White Stars. Yes, I think Mimi and Ibuki will finally be reunited in the same team! Maybe even share the same... bedroom?
Urara will rise into the White Stars for the first time! Deserved after she pulled off that 7-0 win.
Shuri will stay in the Black Stars... and probably drop dangerously close to the bottom, given she was a reserve. She's really going to have to prove herself this next round.
Tsumugi will rise into the White Stars for the first time, I think. The reward for knocking off her sister...
Hitoe will stay in the Black Stars; I think she'll rise in the ranks, but it wouldn't make sense to get back into the White after losing.
Anon will stay in the Black Stars, and as a reserve she'll be in the same boat as Shuri.
Koyuki will stay in the Black Stars... the real question is, will she get out of being last place? Even though she lost, I think she might get to swap with Shuri or Anon... but if they want to be mean, maybe she'll be dead last again

So my prediction is (not in ranked order): White Stars Ritsu, Mimi, Michiru, Hibana, Ibuki, Urara, & Tsumugi; Black Stars Shiori, Suzu, Karin, Shuri, Hitoe, Anon, & Koyuki.

Curious to see how Tsumugi will deal with being separated from her sister for real now, she has matured and is surrounded by friends, yet she's still very young and just now reconciled with her sister, so her being eliminated must've come as a surprise and a painful blow.

I hate to say it, because she's one of my personal favorites, but I really don't see Tsumugi lasting that much longer than her sister. Yuuri was written off because her character arc concluded, but it's not as if there's a ton of other things for Tsumugi to do at this point. She'll stick around for a couple more rounds, probably playing a supporting role in Anon's character arc in the meantime, but I really don't see her reaching the top-10. Again, that's my brain speaking, not my heart.

you can tell the author really thought things out this time, story threads leading up to this moment were laid out ages ago, whereas last time it felt a lot more up in the air and random

conversely, last time was a lot more tense, cause you really didn't know where things were going, and it's only after the resolution that they could sort out why they made the choice they did, whereas this time the answer felt natural, to the point that even Yuuri already had a speech and future plan laid out, very mature of her but also, way less tension

The votes went like I thought, but the elimination was out of left field. I thought that mimi would jump to take the blame and go to another agency.

Dude thats just impossible, it would make the series really hard to write. This is about ibuki and mimi, im confident saying those 2 will not be eliminated until the very end.
I did think yuuri was going to bite the bullet here. She made a mess of things for her team, and her backstory with her sister is also over, she said before she only came here to support tsumugi, so she was a shoe in to be eliminated.
What im curious about is why ibuki beat mimi SO easily. 5-2 may not seem one-sided, but she got the votes of all the pros.

Mimi had to learn many songs and dances since it was undecided what she was going to sing, so she wasn't as good as Ibuki in the technical side + the fact the dance didn't come as well due to the unity of the group being less than than their rivals. The fall worked on Mimi's favour so she could win the public vote, since it is a nice story for someone to fall and get up, you want them to win.

Yuuri took it like a champ, and I'm glad she realized she wants to be a dancer. I hope she got all the hatred she had completely out of her system and can move on, while keeping a good relationship with her sister.

Sometimes in fiction, the predictable outcome is predictable because it is so obviously the correct outcome. They had me scared for a moment there that they weren't going to eliminate Yuuri.

I known that Yurri was going to be eliminated. For a moment, I thought they were going to eliminate the girls who didn't get a chance to participate, but it seems they still have some room to grow. The reason for her elimination is valid. They even mentioned how the whole team was essentially walking on eggshells around her because they knew she was upset and that was affecting their teamwork.
