I was wishing for someone to point this, but seems like no one consider this important:
Otoboshi president is not evil, there were some hints here and there that seemed to point that he only adopted Aria to profit/take advantage of her and her talent, but his little talk with Kokonoe reveal that he really care for her, and Aria sense of duty/feelings of debt to her new father was what warped her view of things.
