There's even a giant death mammoth connected to the tunnel system, it is an asphyxiation trap waiting to happen

Panic attack. I'd develop claustrophobia or becoming more claustrophobic. Plus no sun? You'd become more deficient while being underground.

I'm glad you enjoyed the TL!

There is an authors note at the end of the book that explains their inspiration, I'll probably translate it and post it with the final chapter. I haven't fully read it, but they mention that once while they were apartment hunting, a realtor showed them the view out of a window and they both realized that it looked directly onto a graveyard. This work is pretty out there, but there's still plenty of weirdness in our world if you look for it 😄!

Thanks for translating and sharing this with us! I also really appreciate the assembled pages, but I think putting it after the individual pages would be better. We would first explore the house with the characters, then we would see the assemble to make what we just saw a bit clearer.
