I can kind of get it though, the son is calling one of the father's business partner's a scammer, putting that relationship in jeopardy. It's like taking your child to work and they act in such a way that risks you getting fired, and refusing to change that behavior despite being told to stop. So a more serious punishment than simply scolding them is necessary.

Granted though, the kid is totally right, and he father really should have struck somewhere that wasn't his face at the very least, but that's the old times for you.
