I really hope this is not how they determined whether she lost her memory or not... There's a limit to incompetence and this sets a new record beyond that limit.
Why would anyone kill for fun? Killing for love, money, social positions, territory, or anything else is meaningful and normal. Killing for fun is just plain stupid.
Reminds me of Martin Blank, from Grosse Pointe Blank: "No, no. Psychopaths kill for no reason. I kill for money. It's a job. That didn't come out right."

Well we still don't know the full story of why Midou is the way she is. She's been hinting several times that she's appearently met kazumi before what we see in the first chapter (before she kills fumika), which he doesn't seem to remember. I dont think Kazumi is the main focus of the story, its Midou. We just experience the story from his point of view.
