First up, thank you for the update.
This is the third romance-manga-with-a-gender-nonconforming-female-main-character that introduced a (potential) rival, and as always, I am scared.
One of the three did not handle that arc good, and ended even worse shortly after.
The other introduced the arc only recently, and I am a bit more optimistic, but sceptical.
And here I am not all that afraid, but I am not looking forward to slogging throug the incoming misunderstandings and arguments.

Alas, at least one romance-manga-with-a-gender-nonconforming-female-main-character is pretty much immune to that trope

Of course:

The first one, that ended very disappointingly, is Marumaru na Kanojo ni Dekiaisarete Imasu, aka I am doted on by my 〇〇 girlfriend. I am not going to talk too much about it, it's only 14 chapters.

The second one is Kakkoii Onnanoko to 12-centi no Yakusoku, aka A Cool Girl and a 12cm Promise.

The one that is going very well is Goukon ni Ittara Onna ga Inakatta Hanashi, aka How I Attended an All-Guy's Mixer. It also involves crossdressing, also has an all Adult cast, and is really, really good. An anime was released recently, which adapted the manga up to ~chapter 33, and there are currently 58 translated ones (mangadex only goes up to chapter 8, as the manga has an official release via Square Enix)
